Music Review: “Rush, (E Dey Rush)” by Ayra Starr

“Rush,” is a song by Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ayra Starr. Ayra Starr is currently signed to Don Jazzy’s “Mavin,” record label.

“E Dey Rush,” is a pidgin word that translates to “It is rushing.”

What is the song “Rush, (E Dey Rush)” by Ayra Starr all about?

Ayra Starr in the song “Rush, (E Dey Rush),” sings about different things.

First off, Ayra sings about her smooth and continuous progress musically, financially, and otherwise. It is a swipe at those who are monitoring her progress so far and believe that the music star has used up her talent, finance, and so on. She says it is “rushing,” which means, her musical skills, finance, and so on are still flowing.

Ayra Starr sings about her yearning for a lot of money, and how focused she is on getting more money rather than focussing on haters or rumor mongers. She says no matter how fast haters move, they can’t move fast enough to catch up with her.

She also sings about efficient or competent people being less garrulous. Ayra Starr believes that people who talk too much have the least knowledge, while people who are not talkative focus and work hard to achieve their goals.

Lastly, she sings about so many haters in the industry/world who don’t want her/ other people’s progress. These people according to Ayra, even though they act or appear friendly are in the true sense evil.
