“Somebody’s son” is a 2021 song off Tiwa Savage’s album titled “Water and Garri.”

It was highly rated by famous American rapper Nicki Minaj, who said the song was on repeat.

 For me, I am indifferent about this song. I think this song just grew on me and many others. It is not the best of Tiwa; I would still opt for an “All over” track all over again compared to somebody’s son. Regardless, the song is not performing badly on YouTube as it has amassed over 5 million views.

Somebody’s son is a love song whereby the artists desire to be found by a man who will love them wholeheartedly, even though they are afraid of giving love a try due to constant heartbreaks.

The line “This won’t be another heartbreak song” emphasizes the constant heartbreak they have experienced.

The use of “somebody’s son” in the song refers to any male child of a particular person, whether known or known.

Lyrically: This song is straightforward. It is well composed. It is easy to understand. However, no new word expands listeners’ or viewers’ vocabulary. The lyrics are repetitive.

The lyrics flow well on the beat, and the artists also flow well on the beat.

The song comes in two verses sung by Tiwa Savage and Brandy, respectively. The song was predominated by pre-chorus and chorus, which was taken thrice each. 

 The artists sang in three languages, Yoruba (A Nigerian Language), Pigin and English; they, however, sang more in pidgin. Brandy also sang in these three languages with no hitch. 

Vocal: Their vocals are appealing and expressive. They sounded like, and they looked like a twin. They flowed nicely on the beat. They were consistent with their vocal quality. However, they did not take any high notes.

Melody: It is a slow-paced song; it may not be the type of vibe you will want to repeat. The primary instruments used in the song’s composition are a complete drum set, guitar, piano, and saxophone.
