I feel the song “Know you” by Ladipoe ft Simi has the same beat as Mr. P’s 2018 song titled Wokie Wokie which features singer- Nyanda Brasil (View the review here ). The intro beat, in particular, are the same; what do y’all think?

If you ask me, I would say they sampled “Wokie Wokie” beat. Regardless, the song is extremely melodic and I am stuck with it, just like I am stuck with my “Blockway” game #winks.

I hope they acknowledged the beat owner though- Mr. P

What is the song Know you by Ladipoe ft Simi about?

“Know you” is a love song about two people who are developing feelings for each other but are reluctant to express their feelings because they barely know each other. They hold back the feelings they have for each other even though they want to throw caution to the wind. They want to let go of their fears and fall into each other’s arms. They want to spend quality time together, go places together, share so many things, dialogue, share their daily experience, wear each other’s clothes without holding back.

In other to achieve this, one of them, Ladipoe decides to break the ice, by being the first to start a conversation with the lady (Simi) he desires. This helps ease the tension between them as well as help them get to know each other better.

Lyrically: The lyrics are heart-warming. The lyrics are well written. The lyrics come in two verses taken by Ladipoe and Simi respectively. The pre-chorus and chorus which started the song were taken thrice and “odi (it is)” very melodious. The lyrics flowed well on the beat. The artists sang in Standard English and pidgin.

Break the Ice: To do or say something to relieve tension or to get the conversation going in a strained situation. To break the stiffness, silence when around strangers or a group to make them more uncomfortable.

Vocal: Appealing! Very interesting to the ears! They were consistent with their vocal quality and did not go off-tune.

Melody: This song is so tuneful; I am stuck with it. The instruments are not varied. The major instruments used in the composition of the song include drums and piano. The instrumentals were well arranged and their vocals flowed well with the rhythm. There was also consistency in the style of rhythm.
