Naira Marley may be a staunch Muslim but having listened to this song from beginning to the end, I can categorically tell you that Naira Marley sampled one of the Christian tunes.

Here goes the Christian tune he sampled below

“Talo dabire? (2x) (Who’s like you? (2x)”

“Ninu gbobgo alagbara l’aye (Among all the powerful ones on earth)”

“Talo dabire Oluwa oh (Who’s like you; oh Lord)”

If you are a Christian that goes to church regularly or if your church still has this archaic style of worship; you would know the above song.

So, now that I have reminded you about the old gospel song Naira Marley sampled, what’s your opinion? Do they sound alike?

What is the song “Aye” by Naira Marley about?

So based on the request of this song; here, you now have Aye by Naira Marley reviewed on the Ogefash Photoblog.

Aye is a Yoruba word in Nigeria that means Life, World, or Earth; the usage depends on the context.

In the song, Naira Marley talks about how human beings are the main causes of the problems on the earth. According to him, if human beings were not problematic, there won’t be problems on earth. If human beings were not difficult or evil, the earth too won’t be difficult or filled with evil.

This he emphasized in the chorus “Aye yi o le o, aye lo m’aye le” which translates to “This earth is naturally not difficult, but the human beings on earth have made it difficult.”

In essence, it is what the people are feeding the earth with that is manifesting; if people were good; the earth would also be good.

The visual for this song is quite simple and for the first time, Naira Marley hasn’t got anything too erotic in his visual. I saw Davido in the latter part of the video; he was looking cute o, especially when those that surrounded him treated him like a king. I also saw Tingasa crooner-CBLVCK in the video.
