Easy on Me by Adele Meaning, Lyrics and Translation

“Easy on me,” is the second track off Adele’s album titled “30.”

This is my best song from the album.

What is the song Easy On Me by Adele all about?

Adele in this song talks about the transition, adjustments, and many sacrifices she made to make her relationship with her former husband, Simon Konechki work.

Both Adele and Simone have been together for over a decade. They have a 10-year-old son- Angelo Adkins born in 2012.

They were much younger when they started dating. Adele then had not discovered her traits. She had not gotten the chance to feel on top of the world like she always dreamed of.

Now, Adele is on top of the world. She and her ex-husband, Simon seemed like two different people. They are no longer on the same page. Regardless of this, Adele put in more effort with the hope that the marriage would work, but, because much of the effort was coming from her side, the marriage failed.

Why did Adele title the song “Easy on Me?”

The use of “Easy on Me,” may be a subtle plea by the singer to the husband that he should not hate her or resent her or feel bad, or punish her after the divorce.

Easy On Me by Adele Lyrics

Verse 1

There ain’t no gold in this river

That I’ve been washing my hands in forever

I know there is hope in these waters

But I can’t bring myself to swim

When I am drowning in this silence

Baby, let me in

Chorus

Go easy on me, baby

I was still a child

Didn’t get the chance to

Feel the world around me

I had no time to choose what I chose to do

So go easy on me

 Verse 2

There ain’t no room for things to change

When we are both so deeply stuck in our ways

You can’t deny how hard I have tried

I changed who I was to put you both first

 But now I give up

 Chorus

 Go easy on mе, baby

 I was still a child

 Didn’t get the chance to

 Feel thе world around me

Had no time to choose what I chose to do

 So go easy on me

Bridge

I had good intentions

And the highest hopes

But I know right now

 It probably doesn’t even show

Chorus

 Go easy on me, baby

 I was still a child

I didn’t get the chance to

 Feel the world around me

I had no time to choose what I chose to do

 So go easy on me
